Oral
contraceptives, commonly known as "the pill", are one of the most
effective reversible methods of contraception that consist of two synthetic
hormones-estrogen and progesterone. It inhibits the monthly release of the egg
from the ovaries and prevents pregnancy. At the same time, you must also have
in mind that oral contraceptives do not protect a woman against sexually
transmitted diseases.
